Relief Valves

Pressure relief valves protect vessels and piping systems from over pressure. Relief valves begin to open as the pressure increases past the set pressure, but require about 10% over pressure to completely open. As the pressure drops, the valves begin to close, shutting fully after dropping sufficiently below the set pressure. Safety relief valves and pop-off valves open completely when the set pressure is reached.

Care should be taken in selecting a relief valve that will pass enough flow to relieve the system from over pressure. Refer to ASME and API codes when selecting safety relief valves, particularly in steam, air, hot water, and chemical applications.

Aquatrol	Aquatrol manufactures ASME regulated, national Board Certified Safety valves. Section I (V) and VIII (UV) rated for steam, air and gas applications, as well as a full line of liquid relief valves. Valves are interchangeable with all safety valve manufactures and available with the full array of trim, seats and options. All Aquatrol products go through rigid quality control, setting, and testing.
Hayward	Hayward Pressure Relief Valves protect piping system components from damage due to over pressurization. Relief valves can be set by hand, no tools are needed, to relieve pressures from 5 to 75 psi. Each relief valve is designed to cover this complete pressure range with just one, non-wetted, plastic coated spring. An integral molded 1/4" NPT gauge port on the body makes installation of a gauge to monitor relief pressure easy.
